First of Safar 1436AH
The Moon-Sighting Committee in the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Monday, November 24, 2014 will be the first day of the month of Safar 1436 for the entire region of North America. The Arbaeen, the anniversary of 40th day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (as), will therefore be on Saturday, December 13, 2014.

Please join us this Thursday to commemorate the Martyrdom of Imam Zaynul Abideen (AS). The program will begin at 7PM with Isha prayers and Dua-e-kumayl.
