Lady Zaynab (a.s) Day 2018

Sisters! Join us for the annual program held in honor of Sayeda Zaynab (a.s) on Sunday, September 30th at 10 am. We are blessed to have Sister Anisa Diab, licensed counselor, with us this year to deliver a talk on the topic of “Healing from Psychological Distress: The Zainabiyaa Mindset.” –

Anisa Diab received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Salisbury University, and her M.S. in Community Counseling from the University of Scranton. Diab is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Distance Certified Counselor in good standing. Most recently, Anisa Diab worked as Coordinator for the STAND4YOU suicide prevention program at Salisbury University’s Counseling Center. Currently, Anisa works as a Crisis Counselor for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.  She also owns a distance-based counseling business at, providing one-on-one sessions  to clients from anywhere in the country with the aim of making mental health support more accessible and less stigmatizing. She uses her training and professional experiences to provide workshops and trainings on topics ranging from mental wellness to understanding Islam and coping with Islamophobia.


Ashura 1440 AH

Join us on Thursday, September 20th to remember the events on the day of Ashura. The Ashura program will be held at Imam Ali Masjid starting at 9:30 am.

9:30am- 10:30am: A’maal for the day of Ashura
10:30am-11:00am: Maqtal recited in English
11:00am- 12:30pm: Maqtal recited in Arabic
12:30pm-1:00pm Dhuhr and Asr prayers followed by Ziyarat Ashura

Muharram 1440 AH

Muharram 1440 AH programs will be held at Imam Ali Masjid from Tuesday, September 11th through Thursday, September 20th. The program will begin nightly at 7 pm with Maghrib and Isha prayers, immediately followed by recitation of Quran and lectures in English by Sayed MohammedHassan AlSheraa and Arabic/Farsi by Sheikh Ahmad Ameeni. There also will be classes for the youth (ages 5-12) after the English lecture.
