About Imam Ali Masjid

Imam Ali Masjid was established to serve the needs of the Shia Muslim community in the Philadelphia/South Jersey area.  Shia Ithna Ashari (also known as Twelver Shia or Jafari) follow the spiritual teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and the twelve Holy Imams.

In matters of religious laws, the masjid refers to the Tawdheehul-Masaa-il (Islamic Laws) of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Husayni al-Sistani (www.sistani.org).

The masjid is open to all cultures and strives to meet those needs with programs in English, Farsi, and Arabic.  Regular events include:
– Thursday night congregational prayers with recitation of Dua Kumayl
– Islamic classes covering theology, jurisprudence, ethics, and recitation of Quran
– Sunday youth soccer
