The Moon-Sighting Committee in the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Tuesday, October 9th, 2018 will be the first day of the month of Safar 1440AH for the entire region of North America.

Imam Ali Masjid will be hosting its second annual blood drive in honor of ImamHusayn (AS) this upcoming Muharram on Sunday, October 14th from 10 am – 3 pm. This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend and donate.

Sunday School Classes will resume at Imam Ali Masjid on Sunday, October 14th for ages 4-12. Parents are requested to arrive at 10 am on October 14th for registration and an orientation meeting with the teachers. Classes will be held every week from 11 am until 2:30 pm. Sheikh Mohammed Al-Hilli is an Internationally renowned Islamic Speaker and researcher who has delivered hundreds of lectures on various Islamic themes, such as Morality, Spirituality, and Quranic Sciences. He has presented talks across many countries, from the US and Canada to the Middle East. Sheikh Al-Hilli is particularly passionate in presenting the peaceful message of Islam to the World, encouraging dialogue and co-existence amongst different communities. He regularly lectures at Islamic Centres as well as universities across the UK, and is active in providing activities for the youth.
