The program will begin with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by lecture by guest speaker Sayed Haider Qazwini, poetry, and a Q&A session with the guest speaker.

All are encouraged to attend.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marhooma Umm Hatem in Iraq on October 6th, 2025.

A majlis Fatiha and Khatem Quran will be held at Imam Ali Masjid on Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 from 5-7pm. Please see the below announcements for further information.

It is with sadness that we must announce the passing of Marhooma Hajia Laylima Shahsamand Qurbanzada.  The Janaza program will be on Saturday, September 27th at 12:00PM at Mohammadia Islamic Center, followed by a funeral procession to Laurel Grove Cemetery where she will be buried at 1:00PM. The Fatiha will take place on Saturday, September 27th as well from 2:30PM-4:30PM.

وَقَالَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: «مَنْ شَيَّعَ جَنَازَةَ مُؤْمِنٍ حَتَّى يُدْفَنَ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَكَّلَ اَللَّهُ بِهِ سَبْعِينَ مَلَكاً مِنَ اَلْمُشَيِّعِينَ يُشَيِّعُونَهُ وَ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لَهُ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ قَبْرِهِ إِلَى اَلْمَوْقِفِ.

Imam Sadiq (as) is reported to have said: “‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, for one’s escorting the dead body of a believing person until it is buried, assigns seventy thousand angels of the escorting ones to escort him (escorting person) and ask forgiveness for him from the time he is taken out of his grave to the station (for Judgment).”’ (Al Kafi, Vol. 3)

Imam Baqir (as) is reported to have said: “When a believing person is placed in the grave, it is announced then: “Paradise is the first gift for you and forgiveness for those who have escorted you.” (Al Kafi, Vol. 3)

Please join us on Saturday, September 13th, at 2PM on how to perform the obligatory and recommended acts for burial, including a detailed demonstration on Ghusl and Kaffan. The workshop will be led by Sayyid Baqir Imrani.
